I'm suffering from a terrible head cold, and as a result I'm having serious difficulties concentrating and understaning why the preloader does not work in my .fla file!!
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance

I'm having kind of a hard time following what you've done, exactly, but I think I can offer a few pieces of advice.
One thing that's going to trip you up is that the preloader needs to keep reloading the frame with the code on it. So rather than just having it go to the next frame if everything's loaded, you need to have it go backward to the previous frame if things haven't loaded yet, so it can move forward and hit the frame with the code again.
Also, make sure that your loader bar has an instance name.

I followed a tutorial, as I've never done a preloader before!!...And so my understanding of how to do what you have suggested is limited, you wouldnt be able to point me in the direction of a tutorial by any chance?
Thanks

You know, I've never really found one that I liked. The preloader I use is kind of a mash of ideas from having read a bunch of different tutorials. Might give this one a try, though:
http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Actionscripting/Basic/accurate-CMD-760/index.php
Flashkit has a lot of tutorials on preloaders, and you can search around there if that one doesn't work you. Also try ActionScript.org.

Get everything working? If you're still having trouble, I can probably dig up one of the preloaders I've done and send it along.
