I've spend a fair bit of money on my site with hosting and mty domain etc..
And all i get is 12 hits a day!
My site is an Automotive search engine!
Does anyone know how i can improve my hits with free advertising that actually works!
I also have another site that i spend nothing on and it gets 50 hits a day!
You people probally think this is hardly nothing!
But adding my site to other peoples sites for car sites in australia isnt very easy!
As there isnt many car sites to add it to!
Here is my url: Http://www.Unique-Autos.com
I have added it to search engines and links page and even some sites have added my banner and it still doesnt give me any more hits
:(
Thank You!
What content does the other site has?

They are both Automotive sites.
Http://www.GroundForce.cjb.net - 40hits + / day
Http://www.Unique-Autos.com - 12hits + / day
But i get more hits on Ground Force cause i used to make templates and i had my site on template sites and i still get hits from them!
And i have it listed in Google, and i get plenty of hits from them, but ive tried listing Unique-Autos.com with google and they havnt added it :(

I easily get more than that. Go to my page http://www.albinotreefrog.net and join the little program in the box on the front page. Gives you 1 hit for every 6 times you open your browser+referrals.

I operate a rather large automotive research web site in the Good Ole USA. I initially started with 34 - 40 visitors daily, this was Dec. 1999.
I now receive more than 100,000 monthly visitors. I may be able to provide some help to you. Let me know at your convenience.
Falen!
your site looks nice!

Resubmit to the SEs if they've not listed you after a while. Also, could try putting your url up in stickers on your car or something. :) Also, insert your url into your signature for everything. :)

Hi,
Thank you for the input!
I did have stickers for my other site and i gave a few away, but that was more of a "Display Your Car" and photos from events kinda site...
And i dont think it would be too cool to drive round with a Search Engine url on our car...
As i dont see people driving round with Yahoo.com or google.com stickers on there car!
Hhehehe!
Thank Again,
Scott

Hi Scott,
maybe it gives you some hits when copying my idea:
I've made a small webmaster-resources-site, that now is listed on free.com
The URL is:
http://uzi.d4f.net
Now after i am listed there on free.com i put some additional links and banners to my other sites.
maybe this will also work out for you...
(---Hi goldi GoldiLocks! How are you?---);)

i would suggest you team up with
MOTORADS
He's running or building a online
Auto~Classified's site
and the two of you have unique balanced content..
perfect link exchange.. which the spiders/engines LOVE!

Have you tried submitting to GoGuides.com or joe ants directory?
Both are up and coming search engines that shows great signs of growth.
As a part time editor for goguides I can tell you that the sites are looked at and evaluated before being added.
Don't put spam on your pages and write up a good meta discription, not just advertising hype and it will get listed. also submit only ONE page, your site url.
Hope that helps some.

what happened with the take over of the .com? did the domain name expire & then someone registered it? sorry about your experience.
your right.. the decline in traffic is due to the fact that the 300 daily visitor/hits were those driven to the .com & possibly repeat visitors who naturally would go back to the .com. do you have any way to contact your visitors with the new url address?, such as ezine or newsletter members?
with changing to the .co.uk it's like starting all over again. wow, really sorry that this is happening. Tell me more about the loss of the .com :o

This is a time consuming one, and I don't know yet just how much it helps as I'm in the process of doing it myself now (if anyone knows this is a stupid idea, please do tell me - nicely please - so I can stop wasting my time!). I put Search Engines in the Google SE and go down the list looking for SE's that have health sections and see if I can add my link. Some have no option, some just offer paid adverts, some want pay-per-click but every so often you can find one that accepts a link for free. I guess the way I look at it is, anywhere that link it there is a better chance of someone finding it than if it's no where! :D
