I have downloaded and installed the programme twice. It has crashed on both occasions. I am now doing a system restore to get IE6 back. I don't use IE except for checking pages so it isn't any loss.

MS Software is flakey enough when it is out of Beta, think I am gonna leave that until they have released it and I don't have much choice whether it installs or not. At least at that stage they will only have the security loopholes to sort out. *crosses fingers*

do not beleive what you see on that site. IE7 is not a single install, it will come in a Service Pack for XP. few things to look at on that site.

2002??? IE7 was not even thought of then.

and

Internet Explorer 7 is for the time being intended only for developers and registered beta testers. Therefore, Internet Explorer 7 is no longer available for download. As soon as the beta goes public, the download links will be available again.

If you do a simple google search you will find that the download is available on the microsoft website.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/ie7betaredirect.mspx <-- You can get it there. We, however, have a chip in the PC's at my school that resets all settings after reboot. And this program need a reboot. :(

I won't use it before Microsoft is finished with developing it!
And why should I use it, when I am using the Opera browser?
Download Opera here! (http://www.opera.com/)

I won't use it because I run Linux!
And why should I use it, when I am using the Firefox browser?
Download Firefox here! (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/)

nox-hand you are very annoying! (;))
You should use Opera because it's better than Firefox! Or should I say: I think it's better than Firefox! It's faster and has a better control of transfers etc..

And again, STOP IMITATING ME nox-hand! (:P)

(Just kidding! :D)

careful RazLan, it all boils down to Personal Preference as to what browser the user should use. :) none is better than the other, well not counting IE :P

Is a system restore painful? Because my Dad's work computer cannot open IE6 at all. It'll freeze the program and refuse to run. He thinks theres a relation to installing FF and then shortly after IE dies. I don't think FF has anything to do with it, but he HATES FF, and wants IE back. I'm not looking foward to IE7. I hear they're not living up to their end of the bargain to what they have claimed they can/will fix. :burnt:

No Nix, the system restore is painless as long as you created a restoration point before installing the new programme. Anything to do with MS and I always do a restoration point. It must be my trusting nature in them..... There is absolutely no relationship between an IE crash and Firefox being installed. Sounds like the best thing you can do is tell him that MS has given over control of the browser market to Firefox because it is a superior programme......

I wish I could tell him that. But he can't stand FF. All the sites he visits won't work in FF, but they're perfectly fine rendered in quirks mode in IE. -_- I don't think he created any restoration points, so he'll just have to wait until he formats his computer. Thanks for the help.
