OK, I'm a newbie with flash. Is it possible to have a button link to a web page, rather than just another spot in the animation timeline? I have Flash version 5.

yes. After you make it a button, you can define the action associated with it, as well as choosing the window to hit.

Don't mean to tread on your toes Dr. Web, but if that explanation was just a little too brief (I found the flash tutorials WAY TOO brief), here's a list of instructions on how I do it (bear in mind I'm only just finding my feet with flash too).

1. Select the Button.
2. Open the actions window.
3. If you are in normal mode on the actions window, open up the actions menu on the left and double click getURL.
4. Enter the URL in the dialog box below the main window.
5. Below that box, select which window you want it to open in.

There you go.
