Would that be enough to support a big site that will get a lot of hits? How much bandwidth does bigresources.com use a month?

Well it depends by what you mean "big"!

If you stream a lot of video and allow music d/l, it will use a lot of bandwidth.

True, bigresources.com itself would pull a limited amount of bandwidth while site's like fwt end out pumpin massive bandwidth.

A TIP: When you see a host say unlimited bandwidth they are considering. IE:

Unlimited Bandwidth means we don't charge your for the amount of traffic you get at your website. If you get 100 visitors a month, or if you get 1,000,000 visitors a month, we don't charge you any extra fees. You can have an unlimited number of visitors to your site without worrying about extra charges.
charges.

They mean visitors specifically.

From TOS:

Unlimited Services
Unlimited is determined by a set of Internet averages. At this host, we divide available resources by the number of users on the system. At any time that you exceed our averages, you will be contacted to discuss moving your site to a dedicated server.

Remember that!

you may also want to check with a database driven server list that will help limit your servers to your needs... http://www.hostindex.com/

just watch where you sign your name

5 GBs should hold you for a while. I get about 3000 unique hits a day and my site has lots of images, I only use about 8 GBs a month. So it all depends on your site.
Good Luck,
Paul

Gets about 30 Gigs bandwidth a month. 5 Gigs is no way near enough.
