XBOX as a web server

Does anybody know who to use XBOX as a web server? I modded XBOX with Xecuter3 chip! Also I installed XboxMediaCenter! Now I can play back up games, match movie (all formats), search internet, listen music(all formats), store pictures etc. Basically it's PC, and there is an option WEB SERVER turn on and turn off. Does anybody knows how to use it?

turn it on maybe? i have no idea. but you can be sure that you will not be able to use that xbox on Xbox-live.

one of the things you agree to is submitting to allowing xbox know your configuration modifications. when Halo 2 came out they kicked 1 million off line to stop cheating on the game.

I do not use Xbox-live, I use Xlink Kai, and it works as good as Xbox-live! And I do not cheat on any games! I herd that people install linux on Xbox. Does anybody know how it works? I mean does it work good or so so? if you have linux you can easely host your web site!!!

I believe you are a bit mistaken, max. Linux is an operating system -- in and of itself...it can't do anything to help you host a site -- however..many programs..such as Apache ( http://www.apache.org ) that run on linux -- do. But...even configuring a linux server on a real computer is a task for someone who doesn't know how to do it -- I'm unfamiliar with xbox's system setup -- but I am fairly certain that it's quite close to impossible to set one up to be a proper web site hosting web server. Most of the flavors of linux released for gaming systems are for personal use -- and would be unfit for a web server environment.

why would you go thorugh all that trouble to turn you x-box into a server? I mean it is a game console, leave it as that. well it is a game console as far as M$ is concerned. I agree it is just a computer. either way, still a console and not meant to be a server.

i have heard that linux will run on X-boxes.

but being used as a server?? im not sure. if i remember correctly, i have seen someone who used his for a server. i still dont know why you would want to in the first place but thats just me...

If you have a HDD, you can actually make it boot BOTH Xbox gaming AND use it as a PC/Server :) Read there, it's all there! I want an Xbox....just to do that :P

May as well get two Xboxes, it is what my cousins did. One with the mods on it, for pirating renting games, the other for playing online. Really simple concept eh? Just expensive, but who doesn't have loads of cash laying around these days?!?

hey dude. I modded my xbox also, but with an alladin live programmer. I know how the executer works though, and also how to install one.
You want to use it as a server?? What kind of server? One to host games or a website? To tell you the truth, this is infact possible. Now that you have linux on your xbox, and evolution x I would assume, that is the same type of software that runs a website.
You, however, are going to have to find that information yourself. I am guessing european and canadian websites are the best because for my mods I could never find good websites about anything in america, but with stuff out there today, you can probably make an xbox fly.
