G'day all,

I'm doing some further studies to update my IT skills (yes, even at 50 you never stop learning!!!). I am doing some Flash stuff and have to produce this ridiculous animated joke. My heart isn't in cartoons I'm afraid, but I am having BIG problems with the sound.

I have recorded the audio, but in Flash, I just can't seem to slow it down enough so that I can insert the mouth shapes where appropriate. I can't even enlarge the layer so I can see the audio waves in a more clear manner. I have already changed the frame rate to 25fps to slow it down a bit, but I still can't work this out so that it will progress frame by frame in order to change my mouth shape instances.

File is attached. Apologies for the joke (it isn't dirty though for the sake of the mods!)

Well, it's simply a matter of working out the timing, I'm afraid. If you've got it running at 25 frames per second, then every 25 frames will equal one second of running time*. There's no good way, unfortunately, to sync the two up, other than testing, testing, and testing again.

* Computer processors and other factors may conspire to make the movie run slower, but there isn't a whole lot you can do about that, other than working to keep your animation as simple as possible.
