newbie seeks advice

I have finally finished my first website ever. I run sqlite and php on apache 2 server.
i have recieved a lot of good advice and help - so i kindly ask fore the last help on
this project.

what i would like is make a login and logout to my /admin folder or to my admin/index.php.

I have searched for tutorials on this, but could only find it to linux.
can anyone give me advice to find the tutorials? i am totally lost and don't know
anything about servers and security :(

ps. because of the content's matter it dosent have to be a fort knox-
just a simple and good.

I'm afraid that I don't know much about Apache server...

In IIS we have the option to control the access to folders within the default website, and by turning off the default "anonymous access" you can force a login to be required for parts of your site.

I wouldn't know where to look under Apache, though, I'm afraid.

do you mean the .htacess ?
