Top 10 Search Engines...

I am writing a search engine submission script at the moment. What I would like to try and find out though is what search engines you feel are the top 10 (excluding directories like Yahoo!). They really need to be spiders like HotBot, google.com etc.

I don't use anything other than google. Google gives great relevant results to your queries, and other search engines just don't compare.

Also, from my web logs, I get 92% of my search engine traffic from Google.

But since this is to help your submission, I'd say, Google, altavista, yahoo, hotbot, msn, and I don't even know any others..

I too would say Google...followed by yahoo, alta vista, hotbot, webcrawler, excite, lycos, etc.

huh, I'm writing this exact same script at the time. I would say google, aol, altavista, msn, northernlight, webcrawler. I'm gonna put together the top 30 search engines.

Yeah...I looked there....but 80% of them are not spiders and also don't allow free addition :(

They are a submission place that have 40 search engines I think.

I think AddMe has 30 or 32.

I'd say google would be one you need to put in. As for others, I don't Know...

www.monkeypile.com ? Google seems to be the best, it is used on Yahoo! as well. I personally like www.mamma.com , this is similar to dogpile. There are 100s of ones you have never heard of out there, trust me.

my favorite search engine is google, many hits from there, and the best of all easy submission, my site was accepted quick, other search engines r no match!

Remember, your not even in the Yahoo directory, your in Google.com's sydication at yahoo.com

yeh, before when I check my site stats, it used to read 80% visitors from yahoo.com but recently it changed to 80% from google.yahoo.com

When I search for something, I go to dogpile.com, and usually search no farther than GoTo.

I think Teoma is a new search engine..but it's really organized.. Try it!

Google - AllTheWeb - Two best and by far the fastest...but lookout lassoo(lasoo)is loose, may be a good engine.
