hey, so I would like to register a domain. I know that the stuff you get like the cgi-bin, etc is host dependant.
The thing i'd like to know is does it matter where I register?!?
If you know of a good registrar, feel free to post ;)
If you want to get a domain for a cheap price try: http://www.godaddy.com/ ($8.95/year)
It doesn't really matter where you register. When I registered my first domain I paid $70 because I was scared that the 8.50 ones wouldn't work well. On my second domain I only paid $13 and it works just as well as the 70 one, even has faster tech support.

As long as they report the registration to ICANN, it doen't matter.
