Hi,
Counting and/or tracking your visitors can only be performed with a server side program such as cgi, javascript is client side only.
If you have cgi access on your site I'm sure you will find a counter to suit your requirements here. http://www.123webmaster.com/Scripts/Perl/Extras/Counters/ or http://www.123webmaster.com/Scripts/Perl/Extras/Logging/
if you do not have access to cgi, then try a remotely hosted script ( one that is run from another servers site ), you may like to look here. http://www.123webmaster.com/Scripts/Remotely_Hosted/Extras/Logging/ or http://www.123webmaster.com/Scripts/Remotely_Hosted/Extras/Counters/
good luck.
