Hi cfhosting,

Thanks for your feedback about freewebtemplates.com. As you may or may not know, BigResources has recently taken on a new initiative with our most recent site http://www.boxedart.com . The main provider of the content site is Doni, who also runs freewebtemplates.com. Boxedart.com was produced because of the large shift in the current market of advertisements, which is not nearly as supportive as it once was. You will find that in the coming months, many sites that still use the ad based model as a sole means of support will have increasing difficulty managing their sites, and maintaining an online presence (and many have already gone down for good).

This being said, Doni's largest efforts have been put into creating new and innovative templates, interfaces, and photos for BoxedArt. The first thought that comes into your head upon hearing this might be something to the effect of "why would I buy a template on BoxedArt when freewebtemplates is still giving them away for free?" Well, there are a few answers to this question. The quality of product on BoxedArt is much more high-end than what you will find on freewebtemplates. Doni's skill has improved over the years, and even over the past few months, and his commitment to quality work has also improved. In addition, since the idea of BoxedArt is to have a self-supporting website through sale of product, you will find that at the moment, it does not even display banner ads, which makes it easy to navigate.

While, in general, I try to keep the advertisements on the network sites as reasonable as possible, I cannot blame Doni for increasing the advertisements displayed on freewebtemplates, as operations would be difficult to maintain on that site without them, and we might find ourselves without a freewebtemplates.com. In addition to general poor market conditions, the network has also recently been faced with several other rather hard blows, from partnerships that have gone south, and contracts that have not been paid on (I will not go into detail any more than this).

So I hope that you can understand some of the changes that you have, and will see on the network (some for the better, and some for the worse), and I look forward to your continued support.

Is freewebtemplates.com going to be updated anymore? Or is it going to remain where it is without updates. I hope he can at least ad a few new templates, which would be good for him to help promote boxedart. People will say, nice template, lets check out boxedart! And doesn't he already own 4templates.com?

Another question - how much does it cost to keep up freewebtemplates anyway? I was wondering how much because it doesn't seem like it would need more than say 50 megs.

Also, can Doni do me a custom desing for free, because my design skills out of 1-10 are -2424. I really don't have any money so a non-free template is out of the question.

Cf,

To answer your most recent questions:

Q. Is freewebtemplates.com going to be updated anymore? Or is it going to remain where it is without updates.

A. There will be occasional updates on Freewebtemplates, however you should expect a lot more user submissions than Doni creations. It is both expensive and time consuming for Doni to create new work, and the quality yet to come is just too high to hand out for free. The next set of updates on BoxedArt should dazzle even the toughest skeptics on this.

Q. And doesn't he already own 4templates.com?

A. Doni does indeed own 4templates, which was the basis for the BoxedArt idea. BoxedArt has expanded upon it with several other types of media, and flash templates/interfaces are still to come, which will be in the usual high quality Doni fashion.

Q. Another question - how much does it cost to keep up freewebtemplates anyway? I was wondering how much because it doesn't seem like it would need more than say 50 megs.

A. Well, it's like I always say, it's not the storage, it's the bandwidth! :supereek: Freewebtemplates receives around 7000 visitors a day, and gets 4x as many pageviews. it is also very graphics heavy, and contains nothing but graphics as content. This type of bandwidth transfer does not come cheap.

Q. Also, can Doni do me a custom design for free, because my design skills out of 1-10 are -2424. I really don't have any money so a non-free template is out of the question.

A. No, I am afraid that Doni's custom creations tend to sell in the hundreds, or even thousands for a single design. This is what makes BoxedArt such a great bargain, anybody can purchase the quality of this level for just $10-$25, which is cheaper than what many registrars charge for domain names (and of course you don't need to pay for the template again each year)!

As for your design skills, I'm sorry to hear that you have not had success. Presenting a professional appearance is an absolute must if you want your site to be taken seriously. My suggestions would be to either save up a few dollars for a premium BoxedArt template, or grab one of the still free, and perfectly fine templates off of freewebtemplates. They might be a little older, but they're still quite nice.
