2005 well on its way to 2006 and we have had no comps yet.
So here we go at fixing that!
This months comp is back to the old web page design idea with a slight twist. Beofre I mention the themes and the criteria...
Whats up for grabs?
As with the last comp, 9 hours of custom graphic design by moi. This will be 3 sessions of 3 hours. I will include some custom photography if your request is within my abilities and practical scope. Ie... want to send me on a drinking binge in New Zealand with Ian to get some great landscapes... then be prepared to find me 1st class return tickets. Actually one way will be fine!
If I can find it... looking now, I will also chuck in "Photoshop for Photographers 7.0 - Martin Evening" for the winner of my choice. This will be based on many things and not simply the best looking design but will include other aspects as well. It is in mint condition with cover CD. There is no better guide to photographic editing with photoshop. I do have copy knocking about... and if found, I promise my choice of winner gets it by post.
So the theme for March:
Micro Website - Alien Abduction.
With so many handheld and other devices now able to access one form or another of the web... web pages sometimes have to be designed at a micro level. With this in mind you will be asked to design a site no larger than 400px by 400px.
What we want in that 400px by 400px canvas:
*** Navigation system for the site.
*** A search function/input area for the site.
*** Some text describing to the fictional punter the aims of your site.
Other than that... anything you want goes.
The theme though is Alien Abuduction. I wont say anymore than that. I feel it is only fair to let you define the meaning of that and how you implement it.
So what do you use to create it! I really dont mind. What What I am asking for though is a single jpg coming in at 400px by 400px. You can use traditional web design and do a screen grab... or use an imaging editor to do the work... maybe use both.
Rules: Please read and adhere to them.
*** Do not use 3rd party copyrighted material.
*** You may submit a maximum of two entries. Your first two count, no exceptions.
*** Mods and Admin may enter for fun, and for fun only. They will not be entered in to the voting rounds.
*** This comp is a bit of fun and education only. It isn't life and death. Entries can be disqualified by the staff here without reason and notice. So keep it to a bit of fun.
*** Do not dicuss entries as they come in, in any thread at all. Please wait till after the winners are announced. However feel free to post questions regarding the comp in this thread.
Inspiration:
I'll post some cool links for each comp to get you on the way.
