I don't think I've actually introduced myself formally on this forum, but it's never too late. :)

My name is Jessica and I am 22 years old. I will be graduating the university I attend next semester with a BBA and majored in Management Information Systems.

I started web designing 2-3 years ago when I did my very first fan site for a soap opera I watch. I got really into it and had lots of loyal visitors. I then became more knowledgeable in the field and went through the web design phase - Namo Web Editor > Frontpage 2000 (eww.) > and now Dreamweaver 4. I know how to create and interpret HTML coding, which when I started out was like Chinese to me. Now, I look forward to getting some certifications after I graduate. Possibly a CIW.

I have been successful in having a soap site that has been up since December 1999 and has grown drastically over the year. It is well known amongst the fans! And I did it all by myself. Granted, I spend money on hosting and don't gain anything from the site but pure pleasure of seeing people enjoying it.

My dream job is to work as an independent web designer or with the firm I am creating, in the entertainment field. I would like to create official celebrity sites or entertainment related sites. This is way ahead of me still, but that's my future dream. Right now, I'm a web designer and network admin/tech support at my current job. I'm looking to learning the more complicated aspects of web design away from front-end, and learning some programming as well if I want to get anywhere.

I guess that's it! If you have any questions, just ask!

Thanks to all for your kindness on this board. It is very rare to find a forum that people don't flame each other! Ya'll are a happy and fun group.

Take care.

PS - I didn't reread what I wrote, so there are probably errors. lol.

Hi Jessica! Nice site! I wish you all the luck in your career. If I was your age, I think that's just what I'd be trying to do.

You're right..this forum is really a lot more pleasant than most..people are respectful of each other, albeit in a kind of warped way, sometimes. Which is as it should be.

I keep meaning to visit the SPAM box...

Hi Zenyenta, thanks for your comments on the site! :)

I agree with the warped comment, I tend to sway that way from time to time, but as computer professionals, I think it's a norm. lol.

Take care.

I liked the site too Jess! Very professional. One thing though:

On the page where you vote (http://www.soapaddict.com/cgi-bin/eventhandler/EventHandler.pl?action=entryform&filename=pollweek) , you are missing 1 poll option. Because when you look at the results (http://www.soapaddict.com/cgi-bin/eventhandler/subs3.pl?action=ShowTotals&id=&filename=pollweek) you have 5 results...you are missing the option for 'YES'

How the h*** did someone vote for Yes when that wasn't even an option?!?! :)

I think someone loaded the cached version (through Google) and voted for an old option. Gosh darnit!

Yep, I am currently in rehab to try to stop, I don't think it's helping, I just can't stay away. :)
