Anyone ever take a look at the classes at hwg.org? I've been thinking about signing up for a few, they teach everything from dhtml, to xml, to whatver. They also grant certificates. I've wondered for a while if it would be any good, or if I could just go to wdvl.com and learn it all for free.

Hi,

In my humble opinion: If you can learn something for free, do so. If, after you learn it, you wish to squander your money. feel free to do so. I've run across too many people who pay to start something & then never finish (myself included, specifically college & grad-school).

Good Point Vinny,

Motivation is indeed an important factor that should be considered before laying down your hard earned doughnuts for a service. It also helps to know yourself, and your own habbits.

However I was enquiring as to the quality of the "teaching" over a do it yourself tutorial site. Since the class is obviously "online", there can only be so much "teaching" done, and I was curious if it would actually be helpful. If there are just there to answer questions, I could always just come to my good friends here, between all of them, I think they have just about every subject covered, and could give this "business guy" some tips http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

A few potential benefit is that there is no demand to physically "attend", so it's in your free time, (if that exists), and you get a neat little certificate to put on the wall. Perhaps I'll brush up on some of the subjects such as xml, and dhtml, and see how much more guidance I require http://talkboard.123webmaster.com/ubbhtml/wink.gif
