Hey guys,
It's been a while since i've visited the boards. sorry about that i've been busy with school and then going to work. but anyway i'm out of school and working on my site. If you could check it out at www.modpages.com/halflife/ it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
- nice
- loaded fast
- the use of the silverish-gray colour on white text is hard to view (where the menu bars are-left and right)..the same goes for the white-on mustard colour
- the main text (Welcome to Half-Life Mod Pages
This site is dedicated to ....) should be more widened as it has usless space around it
- you may want the 'instant news' on the top

Yep it's all good apart from the times new roman text. Either make you page all verdana or all arial but please, no times new roman.
Anyway, the colour scheme is good and I agree with Mark that you should have the instant news at the top of the right cell.

ok, i set everything to veranda. i also changed the text in the bar at the top to black. also the Instant News has been moved to the top. what color could i change the text in the headers to?

The site's okay. The orange/amber doesn't appeal very much to me. though.
looks pretty good, also I am a Half Life fan and found your site to be very useful. The only thing that I don't like is the logo. It still has that annoying and ugly font called Time New Roman. Also the logo should have some smoothing on the text. If you need help with the logo I'll be glad to help you design it for free.

Hacker you would be my best friend if you could design a logo. also the content is not totally done and am working on that. if you design a logo for that site would consider working on logos for other parts of the site? even if you do just the one logo, it would be GREATLY apprecited. Thank you.
No problem, Im not the best logo designer but I do my best. I'll work on it right now and give it to you in a few minutes.

it looks great, i just uploaded it if you want to see what it looks like on the page. what program do you use to make logos? I currently have two other people working with me on the site. would you like to help with other logos and graphics? currently i can't pay you anything. =( sorry about that. maybe we could work something else out though. just let me know what you think. thanks.
Glad you like it. Now it will cost you $200. Just Kidding :). I'm glad to help you out, I could design a couple other logos if you want but propably not today. I am currently practicing for a web design company I will open soon so thats why I design these for free right now. Also I use a simple program called Microsoft Image Composer but I am learning Photo Shop which has much more features, but until then I have to use the simple one.

Would have taken me a little less time if my computer didn't freeze right when I was about done. I want to do better in the whole logo design business that's why I really want to learn Photo Shop, which I just found out that I lost and now have to spend hours looking for it.

In the mean time good luck in learning PS! You should do much better in graphic design once you learn that.

that logo was great, as good as you are you soon will be able to ask for that $200. not to mention you did that in MIC. i am very impressed, i have MIC and could not accomplish anything close to that. thanks again for your help. let me know when you get your business going and I could put a link on my site.

Paul thanks a lot for the acceptence. As I said, I added you to my buddy list and will get back to you in a month 1/2 or so (I plan to almost finish my site then).
