Hi,

I'm a pretty naive poet at the moment. I don't revise my work after the first draft, as I prefer to let the feeling flow. I do enjoy it immensely, and although I know it will never really blossom into anything special, I think it is a beautifully expressive medium. I am a free spirit where poetry is concerned, I have to write it down as it comes into my head or it gets lost forever and doesnt come back the same.........I am in the middle of writing a book of poetry with to do with different subjects but my favourite subjects at the moment are nature and the earth and romance and love..........

I have written about 8 poems in the last couple of months..........

I think everyone has it in them to be a poet, but it is getting the creativity out that is the key............

My poetry is mainly dumb stuff in the SPAM box. I did however, write the poem sent to all of the members awhile back. Jason asked me to do something a little more fun than the typical email announcement.

Here is one about my little girl. Her name is Alexis and she will be 5 at the end of September. If you can't guess, I am wrapped aroung her little finger.

She makes my heart leap
with such joy when I hold her
Her hugs so tender

It's corny, I know! It is really hard to believe how much a child can change your life. I never realized how much being a father would mean. Both to her and to me.

a lot of times when you read your own words it seems 'corny' or 'naive' but its interesting to see how others may interpret it...

i started writing in high school and i never really thought i was any good but i ended up actually getting some of my work published in local journals and what not and now when i look back at my writing it still doesnt sound all that great to me...i guess its all about mood if you cant get into the right element it never comes out any good...anybody have any favorite poet or poem?

As time goes by........

As time goes by,
We hope to feel
that maybe we can
let things heal,
even though there's
so much hate,
as time goes by,
it's not to late
for time to heal.

Our hearts are open
for friendship too,
and when it comes around
we can say hello,
but as time goes by,
time will tell,
maybe we can start to say,
that our friendship may,
be here to stay.

I'm not sure if rapping is considered poetry to you guys but to me it is. I love to freestyle rhymes and thats what I'm into opposed to standared rhymes. Anyway I respect any one that could write a good rhyme/poem so all you poets post here.

hey! im forgot about this thread altogether...
yep rap is definite poetry...i think any written form of self expression is poetry it really doesnt even have to rhyme anymore....

No, I have no creativity, or imagination, or.....The furthest my imagination goes is to visualize (or for you people not in hte US, visualise) my putting stroke before I hit teh ball (golf:D).
