I am unable to use HTML to "spruce up" my eGroups messages, although I've seen it done in other messages. I'm not sure what I need beyond <HTML> & </HTML> tags at the begining and end. Whenever I preview my messages, the various tags are not processed; i.e. boldfaces, headings, bgcolor, etc. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Jeff,
I'm not familiar with eGroups. Post the URL of the eGroups message board so someone can take a look and see if HTML is allowed. In any event, you will most likely not use the <HTML> and </HTML> tags.

The eGroups message boards are accessed through www.eGroups.com (http://www.eGroups.com) . I don't have a free message board with which to experiment, though.

Jeff,
OK, I checked it out. It's basically like a news group. You can't post HTML code in messages so I assume you must mean the email responses. To send HTML email with Outlook Express you select to send email in richtext (HTML) format. Click on the TOOLS option on the tool bar and then OPTIONS then the SEND tab. Check the HTML button. When you write an email make sure you are using richtext format (click on FORMAT when in the new message window to find the options for backgrounds and images and sounds etc.) You don't have to insert any HTML tags at all. Just write your email using the options and OutLook Express will add the HTML tags for you. If using a different email program consult with the help files for sending HTML email.
Regards,
Kevin
