Hi jimday82,

Welcome to HTMLforums.

I could not get your website to load at all, so I will try again later today.

I didn't have any trouble downlaoding the site. It didn't take any longer that an average site for me.

I liked the overall presentation of the site. I thought the colours were good - in some ways calming.

The flash logo in the top-left is tastefully done any looked professional. The only problem that i could see if that the background colour on the flash logo doesn't quite match the background colour next to it.

Is it only your main page up at the moment? I couldn't get any of the links to work and so couldn't explore content. (the links were to my hard drive, i.e. "C:\Webpage\services.htm", this could be the problem)

I'm not too sure about the the visitor counter, i don't think i've ever seen one of these on a professional site. It is normally the type of thing found on personal homepages and amateur sites. If you are trying to make it look professional, i would get rid of it.

Just one more thing, i would be interested if you could tell me how you achieved the effect on the image at the top-right, the way it fades into the background colour. I've tried this type of thing in photoshop, but couldn't get it to look good.

I agree with the previous post, you shouldn't really have a counter that's visible to the viewer. If you want to count the people, set the image attributes:

width="0" height="0" border="0"

The border attribute is only needed if the counter is a link.

The writing on the right, telling the user that the site's being re-done for a while perhaps shouldn't be so prominent.

Also the links are to C:\\Documents\etc... as someone already noted.

Apart from those minor niggles, I have to admit the design is absolutely brilliant, and the picture of the people really adds a professional look to the site.

OK, I got into the site this time. Downloaded real fast, which I would suspect it would since there is not much there in the way of file size and little binary content.

The design and layout are good. I would prefer more contrast inthe right side (white text on gray background) but its not too bad.

Agree, visible counter needs to go.

Its all a bit flat and rectangular looking for my taste, and I'm not sure why you bound it all into a table, but its not too bad.

The color scheme is very conservative. Corporate shades of blue and gray give it a proper, somber professional feel. I'd try and work in some nuetral shades of red to add some visual interest and help lead the eyes around.

The content (what little there is) is easy to read and navigation will probably be good.

I might try adding scan lines to the top image to give it some depth. Get a logo and place it on each page for quick recognition, the flash animation is OK but is a far cry from a nicely done logo.

The layout does not seem opitimized for any screen resolution, too big for 640 x 480 and a little small for 800 x 600.

Overall it is a good solid effort. Room for improvement but a very good start.

Regards,
Kevin

Wow I like it, I have the same gripes as the reviews before me, 86 the counter. In all the site is clean and well suited to display e-commerce simplicity.

Just wanted to thank all of you for taking the time to look at it. I am far from done, but I just wanted to get an opinion on the layout basically. I'm taking a break this weekend, but I'll get rid of the counter ASAP!
