Website Statistics Question

I was wondering if it was possible to find out statistics of any random page. I have an idea for a website that is similar to some which are already in existence, but I'd like to know which ones are the most successful.

Is there a place to find traffic information simply by knowing a URL? Thanks.

You couldn't do it yourself. You'd need the results from a traffic test done by the website owner.

There is no way to do this. However, you can get a very rough idea of how a site is doing by using Alexa at:

This information can usually be seen inside the CPanel of the website as Web Statistics/Webalizer Stats. These stats can be very detailed,as to hits every hour, day or month of choice. Can even track down countries who visited your site. ;)
