Hi fergie57, welcome to the forums! Well all you need to create a basic webpage is a simple text editor like Notepad and some knowledge of HTML. There are plenty of tutorials around on the web, try this link to start you off: http://www.123webmaster.com/Learning_Center/Tutorials/HTML/
I'm sure the other members will provide you with other good places to start.
Well good luck and if you have any specific questions then post them in the forums and we'll do our best to help you. ;)
Hi fergie57!
Welcome to the forums. Its nice to know that you have an interest in taking up HTML. Follow the link Goldilocks gave which has a vast number of sites. If its not listed there, I suggest you take a look at: http://www.htmlgoodies.com
Also, you can read a book about HTML if you want to.
Last thing, feel free to post anything you don't understand up here and we'll be glad to help.

This may help also: http://www.htmlhelp.com
When I wanted a reference, I purchased a nice "HTML for dummies" book. It has a corny name, yes, but it has helped a lot when you are looking for a certain form tag attribute or something.

Yep......I bought Sams "Teach Yourself HTML 4 in 24 Hours".
Nothing really intense or fancy, but it does give you the basics.

First of all, where to start.. Well, here is some Very simple HTML tags/coding:
<HTML>
<TITLE>I AM LEARNING HTML</TITLE>
<BODY BGCOLOR="GREEN">
<BODY>WELCOME TO MY PAGE!</BODY>
</HTML>
That's very basic and if you already knew that then you should try something like....
<HTML>
<TITLE>THIS ONE IS A LITTLE BIT HARDER..</TITLE>
<BODY BGCOLOR="RED">
<H1><FONT COLOR="WHITE">WELCOME TO MY SITE!!</H1>
</FONT>
<MARQUEE BGCOLOR="BLACK"><FONT COLOR="WHITE">I AM JUST SHOWING YOU AN EXAMPLE OF SOME DIFFERENT ADD-ONS. WITH ADD-ONS, YOU CAN MAKE GREAT SITES AS TO DECORATIONS AND SUCH</MARQUEE></FONT>
</html>
^I don't know whether that helps but just try looking at every part of it.

You did not declare the end of your BODY tag. H1, MARQUEE and both FONT tags are nested wrongly. Also, there is no HEAD section.

Doesn't matter whether I put this or that. If you copy, pasted, and viewed it, it would still work, so I would shut the **** up.

HTMLMaster,
please don't take offense. Your name is a hard on to live up to. In any event, when learning even the basics of HTML, it really helps to do it the correct way. It will save time later.

I had my first experience with HTML about four or five months ago and didnt have a clue...I wanted to learn and was given a site address by a friend its called AllHTML.com it gives you 7 lessons on how to construct and use the html code it also gives you a slpit view so you can practice your html and then view it as a webpage I would recommend this for anyone starting out.....its clear and gives you precise instructions on what to do and where to begin and more importantly where to save it once you have done it this took me a while to work out but i am sure it wont be too hard for you..........I am still learning but have managed to start a practice site for myself......
good luck..........
