Well the time has come to decide who gets to have their avatar added to the HTML Forums official graphics.

Some nice avatars in there and voting will be tough. So please give it up for everyone who entered and then choose your fave. Results will be released on the 15th of October, voting finishes midnight of the 14th.

As mentioned the winner gets 3*3 hours graphic development slots from me over 3 weeks. Your call on what it is, be it a template or some custom photography. If photography based... and you want some wildlife shots of tropical North Queensland Australia... feel free to post me return flights (I only travel 1st class)... Heck, if you remotely feel that generous, a shiny Nikon 600mm (http://luminous-landscape.com/reviews/lenses/nikon-600.shtml) will be spot on. So dont be too demanding... any suggestions considered though.

Also... any development will be done with your input. I will not work blind on a wishy washy idea. I guess what I am saying is have an idea in mind... and make sure you can get that idea across to me.

I'll consider doing a mixture of design and photography if it is possible. All final work will be done in Photoshop.

So that said and done!

Get your votes in guys and give it up for everyone who entered. Some great avatars. Well done!

I have a few suggested ideas already for the next comp. Please feel free to use this thread to suggest some more ideas for comps 3 and 4. However, please do not discuss the avatars till voting is over.

I'm impressed with all the entries. Very nicely done, everyone.

Entimp, thank you for all the hard work you've put into this competition and into all of them. You're an absolute genius for this stuff. :)

There are some errors on the voting page. It is missing numbers 10, 11, 23 and 34. There are also two numbers 31's (my third entry should be 23, not 31). I don't think 27 and the other 31 (currie) should be available for voting either.

Hopefully the votes are still going where they should.

27 and 31 are both valid and all vote are going where they should. If you any differently, I trust you will PM me about them HIQ.

Thanks Peg, it's all fun at the end of the day.

If it's because of my name on the icon, sorry about that. :( I made it not realizing it should relate to a more general audience. I'd be more than happy to change the text to read something else? Any suggestions?

Sure, I will. But I wonder why Gregory's entry is accepted when himself isn't accepted here. He is a banned member and I understood he has no business here anymore, despite his attempts to re-register?

Hey no fair, It won't let me vote. It says I already voted. KittiK voted already but from her profile. Any ideas?

More information will become apparent soon guys. The vote will obviously be extended as soon as it is back up.

So do we still have ideas for other comps?

How 'bout writing nifty little javascripts? or maybe html knock-knock jokes? No seriously, mini-programs that might be useful for people to use on their sites perhaps? Though there's tons out there available I know, still might be fun.

I think the avatars I made are too morbid for these forums.

Ok... between having a busy busy busy weekend and a minor problem with the voting... I am now calling the voting at a close.

Sorry guys for making you all wait.

Ok guys...

<drumroll>The winner be</drumroll>

Well before we do that. A huge thanks to everyone who entered. Some great entries and the votes demonstrated that to be the case. It was very close in the end. Also a thanks to Scoutt for putting the vote mechanics together once again. Once again he has shown himself to Scholar and Gentleman we all know him to be. Thanks Scoutt.

So with that...

in joint 2nd place were:

36: by GameSnaKe

and

33: by RCurrie

The overall winner was 32: by RCurrie

Well done guys! RCurrie... do you want to give me some idea on how you want to plan this 3*3hours of graphic work? We could do it in a thread. Helkps in two ways, 1: I dont have to search through mail for your messages and I keep abreast of things in one large thread, 2: Other folks might get some help via the process we somehow manage to navigate. Your call I don't mind. Have a think about it and then we can get the ball rolling.

GameSnaKe, once I get this out of the way... I would like to offer you a bit of time as well. Your entry deserves it. So have a think about it... don't feel that it has to be too small... just doo-able.

So finally... well done everyone, give it up for the winners and look forward to seeing you all in the next comp.

Still looking for ideas...

OK big guy... do you want to start a thread in the graphics area with some initial thoughts on what you want... I can start to get involved from there.

Once again, Well Done!

well done RCurrie, great av, what did you use to make it?

RCurrie

Hey Kram, thanks alot. :)

I used Image Ready for all my Avatars. I've been using photoshop for awhile (though I'm still a complete novice) & Image Ready is a great extension of Photoshop. I used tons & tons & tons of layers and then it's just busy work to get the animation working. Move one layer a tiny bit...then new frame, move another layer a bit more...over and over. I'd be happy to post the *.PSD files if you'd like? But you won't be able to see the individual frames unless you have Image Ready...or another program that can read animated gif frames? It was alot of fun, I like little creative projects like that. :D
