Hi, I made my site capable for IE, first it wasn't, I didn't know it wasn't till, I saw it on another computer. cause I have mozilla. well here is my web site, I know no frames, no tables (yet), and two chapters of games aren't filled i yet, and the hyperlink to about doesn't works, that's about every thing I need to do and then I'm ready:
http://www.freewebs.com/templeoforbit/index.htm
I will add the forum to the site today...

hi...
you background image is repeating, making it look odd in 1280x1024px.
Also, your images (includind the background) take about 5 seconds to load even on a broadband connection - this makes it appear that your page is blank...
the background takes ages everytime i change page...

ouch, that's nasty :( , what do you sugest?
-low quality backgrounds?
-upload the background in a frame, so all background will load from the freewebs site (100% faster)
-something else?

Yes, your right. It does looks empty for the first five seconds or so. I would have left if I were a visitor. Maybe you should preload the image or soemthing similar.
Proboards? Seriosly, you know how the url there looks? You should set up your own forum if your host supports php. That will be great. Judging by the fact that its freewebs I dont think that would be an option.
I would reccomend you switching hosts. To somethign a little more featured. Like http://tripod.co.uk or http://illusionfxnet.com
You have nothign to lose, and features to gain.
You can then get as nice domain like url at http://uni.cc great domain place.
Pm or Im me, I'll help you through the process of all this.

a background image should ideally be a simple, smallish repeatable image.
Putting a high-quality 1024x768 JPEG as the background requires a lot of bandwidth on the client...

I think the background is too intense in colour and does not fit in with the image on the right. Colours do not complement each other. I find it difficult to read the text because the background dominates the page.

yeah I know :(
I'm trying to work that out, I liked the backgrouns, but I'l try to find better ones, or I can make it that the text foats over the back ground, but then I'm still with the high graphic problem... I'll work on it.

Hmmm, it's not that weird that it takes ages to load the background, it's a 303.12 KB file :-(
Try not to use that kinda stuff, keep all your images under 15kb to keep loading time optimal, even for low-bandwith connections.
And it looks n00b to use a wallpaper as background of your site...

some things
1. I changed the background on every site.
2. I have a question: do the buttons work?(home, games, Other, ChatRoom, guestbook, and foru)? that's important to know for me. thanks

I made a table with hyperlinks, instead of the buttons so I am sure they will work. only on the index page tho.

I have some remarqs, i don't know how old you are. If you are 12 or younger i would say! good job, keep working and learning.
here are the remarqs :
it's not xhtml compatible
you didn't include your css file (you put them right into each html file which is not efficient)
guestbook is not working.. (maybe write your own guestbook in asp or php?)
chatroom & forum is a good idea if you have some people that use it.
I know i might be "tough" but it's the truth (unless others disagree..)
I am not telling that my site is better than you, i just review site once and a while. If you ever need help i am willing to help you and give tips of hosts, scripts and more..
my site on the same forum under thread "darkanime please review"

I announced that my guest book was temporarry offline, it was cause I couldn't eddit it in Freewebs.I made some thing with Javascript and then I couldn't edit it any more, so I need to upload the edited file and then it will be back online.
I think my site needs a few repairs, and then I will move it and add some moneymaking banners, and update it cause now there arn't much subjects and not much links I will upgrade it to 2000 links on it, I have that many sites in my bookmarks (favorites).
thanks for your offer to help, I will sertainly make use of it when I have quesions, thanks.
