Well, it is getting awefully close to chrismas (Santa is about to start visiting shops) so we all better put a chrismas hat on our avatar

While this is true....over here we still have Halloween and Thanksgiving to go before Christmas.
Not only that...my birthday's around that time and since I'm getting on up there in years I don't want to 'rush' things. ;)
I may see what I can do that's 'halloweenish' to my avatar first. :D

It's early September, how is it getting awfully close to Christmas?

At work they have had a Christmas tree up since September 1st!

Ugh! I can't be thinking about Christmas already, it only seems like 5 minutes since last Christmas. Besides I can't afford another one yet!

I know the shops start selling Christmassy things early, but September is still a bit early even for them!!

Also the sun is shining for once so it's time to feel summery! :)

I start thinking about Christmas usually around the first snow of the year - which is usually sometime in early November for us.

Of course, I'm a winter freak - I love it, especially Christmas. :D

We have, in order, Thanksgiving, birthday, Hallowe'en, birthday to get through before we get to Christmas. I'll think about it then, thanks.

Christmas without snow? <shudder> How odd. ;)

There's nothing quite like going out on Christmas Day to build a snowman, or take the new toboggan out for a few trial runs, or just to have a snowball fight. If the weather is nice enough, though, (greater than -20ºC/-4ºF) I like just going for a walk. If we're really lucky and the weather is about 10º warmer, I'll take the camera out and we'll go for a walk.

*lol* Most times, though, I'm either doing the cooking and/or the washing up, so I don't often get that kind of a treat. Maybe this year the kids'll do the washing up? <sigh> Not likely, but I can hope.

And "Oz" because it's only a tornado flight away, has a few witches that we'd rather not meet in a dark alley (or a well-lit street, for that matter), and its people wear funny clothes and are called 'Munchkins'.

Makes sense now. ;)

Nah, it's not usually that warm in December, even here, but I can all but guarantee you there won't be any snow.

Then again, 2 months ago I could've all but guaranteed that a hurricane wouldn't hit inland Florida. So who knows, maybe we'll have a white christmas after all.

<shudder> Christmas without snow. How terrible! ;)

Actually, I can remember quite a few greeen Christmases when I was younger. I grew up in Toronto, Ontario, so snow was optional. But we always had the ... *lol* Well, you'd call it freezing cold, Rob, but we always had frost, if nothing else. Toboggans may not have worked on the hills, but cardboard boxes worked fine on frost.

And it was kinda neat to be able to walk around the Humber Valley, without being arse deep in snow, but still have the trees decorated with crystalline frost. It looked like a fairy-land then.

Hurry up and get here, Frost!

You forget the closing tag!

Pegasus
09-10-2004, 05:43 PM
Nope. <sigh>, <shudder> and <slap> are single entity tags. They don't require closing unless they're upgraded to <heavy breathing>, <seizure>, and <beatthesnotoutta>. Then they require a closing tag.

And I'm still working on that, Horus. Sort of. First I have to figure out what needs to be said and then I have to figure out how to say it. ;)
