How do I go about creating a professional looking website. I am talking somehing with banners in it and a background with different colors and symbols.

Well that's a tough one.

You see a professional site is so many different things. It embodys the company it represents, so what the way the site is set up depends on the company.

Mainly though, a professional site means that it is no nonsense, and to the point. It also doesn't have things taht would detract from the main idea.

In order to achive these effects you must have some skill, that only comes with much practice, and exprience. When you are online try to notice the fetures that you like most about site, then learn how they are achived. Little by little you will understand the basics of pro-design.

A preofessional looking site isn't in the banners and the background image, it's in the design. You should brush up on your html if you're rusty. How are you with it? I can point you to some good reading material depending on your skill level.
