I strongly urge you to get the advice and approval of your parents or legal gaurdians before continuing further with your website, if you haven't already.

That being said, here is a minimal legal disclaimer that can be adopted to most entities, including websites that might allow slanderous or libelous information to be posted on the website. It will not protect you from law suits but it might protect you from legal judgements, might.

---------------------------------------------
Disclaimer

Your use of CheaterCheck.com (herein refered to as the Site) is at your own risk. The Site will not be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, punitive, or other damages arising in connection with your use of or inability to use the Site.

Indemnity

By using the Site you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Site, and the respective employees, directors, officers, and agents of the Site, against any and all claims, damages, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise directly or indirectly from any loss or damage experienced from your use or attempted use or inability to use the Site.
---------------------------------------------

while I doubt your website really needs such a disclaimer, if you use it you might also want to come up with a an AUP (acceptable usage policy) that users must agree to before posting messages, or uploading or displaying content on your website.

Also note: minors may not be legaly bound by the above disclamer/indemnity clauses. If you allow use of your site by minors the above may not apply. Local, state, federal, and international law may give users specific legal rights that the above disclaimer/indemnity clauses do not cover.

I am not a lawyer or legal expert. Use the disclamer and or indemnity clause above at your own risk.

Regards,
Kevin

i'm getting such a strange feeling of dazhavoo about now! THIS IS IRRIE! but for our site and several related sites, a disclaimer in final format has been in the works for almost 1 year now, and yet the PA group hasnt decided on what to do.
