I've been searching for quite a while on the net now for a company willing to offer free .com or .co.uk or .net adresses but with no luck. There used to be quite a few companys offering this service such as domainzero.com etc.. but now they all seem to have vanished off the face of the world(wide web). Whats going on in this world , is no-one willing to give stuff away for nothing? Does any one know of an companys offering free domai names and what are your opinions on this matter?
Please Post Back Replys.
Thanx In Advance.

I believe this has been discussed in great depth in the forums before (although I admit I didn't take much notice at the time, so I can't tell you what conclusions were drawn).
Try searching the forums for more info on this and maybe someone else can point you to the relevant threads.

I can offer the opinion that it's not really worth it to go crazy looking for free domain names. There are cheap registrars, but even if there are free ones now, they probably won't be free by the time you need to renew and it's even possible that it could end up costing more to keep one that was free initially than just registering inexpensively.
http://www.emeisp.com/ - gives away free domains...the catch is that they place a popup ad when visiotrs LEAVE your site.
even though I mentioned this site, I recommend that you do not signup with any sites that give free domains away, as they will proable run out of business. It is best that you buy a domain or get free short ones like http://you.cjb.net at http://www.cjb.net

Another catch with emeisp is that you don't own the domain name, eme does. If you want to tranfer the domain you must pay eme a modest fee so they will release it to you. But if you're really in need of a "free" domain name give them a look.
