Hi. I feel like I'm going to be known as the "hotlink" chick. My many posts... still ongoing are only on that one subject. But I hope to learn a lot of other things from this forum. It looks to be one of the best resources I've come across.

Let me introduce myself. I just turned 34. I started my website as a birthday present to myself. I'm a California native who has been working at UCLA Medical Center for almost 14 years. Now that's stamina!


I'm just starting out, and it's been a wild ride so far. But I enjoy meeting people from all over and this has been a great way to do so.

I have no experience in webmastering, so I'm learning as I go along. This forum has helped me on several occasions, prior to the hotlinking fiasco. This is the first time I have written in though.

Well, thanks for letting me share. I hope to be able to help someone along the way. Who knows!

You are using the correct method to post an image. Perhaps Jason has disabled this function either in this thread or this forum. Send Jason a private message and ask him.

Alright!!! Thanks, Jason! I was emailing the four other sites that this shmu... hot-linked. Non of the ones that wrote back gave their permission. What a cad! Now I'm on to tackle my next big problem... Thumbnail hell!!!!! The script works, by the way... Mucho gracias to all that helped! And it was a lot of helping, believe you-me. In other words, I'll be back!

Oh yeah, is there a way to keep the picture by default, or do you have to link every time. Man, just saying that word gives me a tick!

Sigh... Maybe I'm not cut out for this. I put the image in where it says, complete with the tags, bupkiss... Oh well. Let's see if this works..

I do not believe the signature will support the image.

I know. That's what I would like to do. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find/get to the appropriate section to select this option in my profile. The Avatar button brings me to a blank page. When I put my link below in the attach file section, it doesn't work either. I wasn't trying to put it into the signature section. let's try again in the morning...

Welcome to the forums by the way!

If you go to Profile and then choose Edit Options,
Scroll down to the Avatar section and click on Change Avatar.
When the page loads, scroll down to the 'Use custom avatar' section and select the 'Yes' radio button.
Go down to where it says 'You can upload an avatar from your computer and click the Browse button. Find the image file and click OK.
Then click on Submit Modifications.

That's it.

Remember that your avatar can only be 60x60 pixels in size so you may need to reduce your image accordingly or it won't work.

I went into a forum/chat area and wasn't bombarded by "What color are your panties"...

I took this excerpt from a neat little write up that was on NoChickTrick's page about the forums. Well, this might be true, however it is the unfortunate case that although your underwear will be kept private, the KMan's won't. He's been known to spout off into long rants about his boxers out of the blue, he's even used several boxer avatars beyond all reasonable pleads not to (for the sake of good taste I will forego telling the tale of SkidMan and that awful battle with tide).

However I will present you with this preemptive tribute to the KMan and his boxer shorts, may they live a long and happy life together.
