CGI message board

Hey, i dont know if this is the right place to be asking this, but here goes. I am making a webpage for someone, they want it to resemble www.livejournal.com in the sense that he posts a main topic, and then other people can comment on that topic, either by starting a thread from the main topic, or replying to a exisiting thread...so basically a message board like this one. I have little knowledge in CGI, i know the basics i think, ive put a e-mail form on some of the other sites ive worked on, but nothing like this. i dont even really know where to start, could any of you help me out?

Yeah, thats alittle to much, really. All i need is a simple message board. can you help me with that? or send me some type of manual, or something to tell me how to write one? I dont want to use someone elses message board.

search on www.hotscripts.com for a message board. There are quite a number of them, hopefully one will suit your needs.
