I set up several Windows XP(Pro/2003) machines with Apache.
But my friend told me I should've installed IIS because.. well.. it's Windows.
I'll just keep Windows XP and Apache combination for those.
But now I want to install a server for Windows 2000 Pro and haven't decided which one to use.
Any advice on this?

Yes, W2K Pro IIS 5 is also limited to 10 connections.
IIS gives you asp support.

10 connections are not enough.
I should stick with Apache then.
PHP is good for me so far.. I might have chance to use ASP later though.
Thank you.

But to touch ASP.net in a fully stable enviroment the IIS is the way to go. But then again you can run them side by side just on different ports

Where I work, we're all M$ which means IIS on NT/2K servers.
We've never had issues with the number of connections - I know there's differences between IIS on a workstation and on a server so maybe someone else can verify that for me as to what the differences are.

its only the trial version that is bundled with WIN XP Pro that is limited to 10 conections, the full version which XP Pro users are supposed to upgrade to l8er doesn't have these limitations so i asume that is the version that your servers have

The limit on Professional 2K/XP are that you can only have 10 connections at any time.
