View Full Version : change gif background color
I have scanned a logo in from a page, the background to the logo needed to be white or even better transparent, so i found the off white color of the background and went thought the export transparent gif procedure on psp, however due to the background off white color not being even enough it came out very patchy, so how do i make this color white or transparent in psp.

there is never a one size fits all solution, it depends on the image. You can use the magic wand and increase the tolerance setting to select more colors of the same hue, or the same intensity, or one of several other options. Once you have the entire area selected fill it in with a color that is not in the main image, red or green for example. Then you can select that color to be the transparent color. If you use the gif export tool, you can also select the tolerance of a transparent color, but this can be tricky to use if there is too mauch variation in the color, better to use the magic wand or the lasso tool, fill in the area, and then make that transparent. There are a number of other ways but like I said, depends on the image.
Transparent gifs do not work well if the edges of the image are not well defined.
