I have a .jpg I use for a back ground. It's 112 kbs.

I have it sized using Photo shop 7 at:
Width:1395 pixels
Height:1859 pixels

Document size:
19.375 in.
25.819

Resoultion is 72.

I have tried to reduce the size of kbs. from 112, but if I do, the size changes and it no longer functions properly as a fixed background.

Any ideas how?

I have attached a jpg and a web site where the page lies.

you increase the jpg compression to reduce the file size without making the image smaller. Look in the help files of your graphics program for compressing jpg images.

that image is just too big to get the file size down and still have the image look good. You need to redo the image much smaller and make one that will tile in the background instead of trying to use one very large image.

This is the best you can get but you have to make the image a little smaller. There is no other way of doing this as web page backgrounds shouldn't be more than a few KBs in size, this is still a little big.
