I think the answer is no, but there is no technical help what so ever.

It cant do a simple POST - this sucks - what can I do with this servive I pay about £5 a month.

Cant I build a search or forum. My site is http://www.futuremovies.co.uk

..but UK2 does not allow any server side programming, including CGI, PERL, PHP, ASP and the rest.

it can have .pl on uk2.net - but non of the others I think. There is fook all information about UK2.net - only a sh*tty little help doc saying you can do .pl

so who is right - and what can be done ? - what about a link to a free service that provides CGI - anyone know any ?

No CGI directory can be made and any .cgi must change to .pl

Thats all I know

Hi unregistered,

sounds like they may allow PERL scripts to be run from any directory. Changing a CGI script to a PL script is easy, if you have a file named script.cgi, simply rename it to script.pl

Give it a try, upload a .pl file and set the permission (if necessary) using an FTP program to make the script executeable.

Kevin

Thanks Kev

This is all confusing to me and I think I will stick to web graphics - its what I do best.

Idealy in the future I will move my www.futuremovies.co.uk to another host so I can set a dbs up - I cant do that with .pl I think ?
And most scripts reaquire POST.

I cant beleive UK2.net is the number one uk web host! - The only thing it does well in is speed. I think I will go to 1and1 at the end of the year.

Thanks for all your help
Johan

Hi Johan,

Nice looking site. Why not take the time to register on the forums, and join our community?
