Hi all. I am having difficulty with Google and .co.uk domains. The domains are in the index (you can check using http://www.sendallmyloveuk.co.uk ) but you can't find it using keywords. This is the same for all my .co.uk domains. Admittedly, these are redirected to another URL (http://members.aol.com/sendallmylove) but this URL works fine and I can find it using keywords ("uk birthday gifts"). Any idea what is going on and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Firstly I would buy myself some web space, looks professional and also considering how dirt cheap it is now.

How is the redirect set up, is it a 301?

A large quantity if backlinks are from web development forums, you need to find sites that will link to you that are on a similar topic with your own, themed links are very important - it lets Google know that you site is on in the same group as the sites it get's it's links from. At the moment, it looks at links from webdev forums and seo forums and they are not on topic at all.

Hunt for good quality links that are on topic with your own site.

Hi creative666. Thanks for the swift reply. The webspace I use is via AOL and isn't free - I pay good money for it. I've no idea how the redirect is done as it is done by UKReg who supplied me with the domain. I had no idea my forum postings would be spidered by Google but I admit I need better links. However, the http://members.aol.com/sendallmylove link is pointing to the same page as the one pointed to by http://www.sendallmyloveuk.co.uk and yet it is only the first one that can be found using keywords (I can find both using the URL's). The annoying thing is that this used to all work fine prior to the last batch of Google updates. Thanks again for the reply.

You pay for that AOL web address? IMO you are being ripped off, you can get cheap web space with a full set of admin tools so you build a very good site.

If it is being dealt with by UKreg then it will be a 301.

I would concentrate on links for now, find places where you can get text links with your keywords in the text, that is very important. Link building is still one of the most important factors in getting a good ranking, the anchor text is right up there as well.
