domain or no domain,that is the question

I was just wondering what everyone thinks about domains,and whether or not all successful sites need a domain.oppinions please.

It depends on what level of success you are going for, but overall yes. Especially if you want your site to be taken seriously by web savvy surfers. Many of the more experienced web surfers know the difference between a personal homepage, and a professional looking page. Besides all that, it's just easier to remember a catchy domain name.

It depends on the purpose the site serves. If it's a hobby site, it can be professional without a domain. Of course, if it's something you do for a living, you have to have a domain.
