One of my computer wont get past the black dos screen (bios I think it is?) Its asking for a boot disk...which I dont have...I run windows 98 and have the cd rom.
I am just a lowly graphics guy and as usual dont know much on the tech end of things.
Could someone help teach me how to make the old hot rod run again?
Thanks

exactly where is the computer stalling?
because BIOS is very different to DOS.
Do you get the table listing your physical drives?
Do you get as far as "Starting MS-DOS" or "Starting Windows"?
It sounds like the computer isn't finding the start files on the hard drive - not wanting to sound condescending - but did you format it?

if the question is how to boot from the cd-rom, you may have to go into the BIOS and select that option, some computers may try and boot from two or more drives during startup, but some may not, just depends on the BIOS they have and how they are setup. If you do not see a cd-rom listed in the boot sequence section of the BIOS than your computer will not boot from the cd-rom, but most computers made in the last several years should have that option.
If this is a result of messing around with the video, check that you did not knock or unplug any cables by accident when you had your hands inside the computer.
If all else fails, take it into the shop if there is nobody around to help you.
Don't bump your thread up anymore, be patient.
