View Full Version : Movie Quotes
OK, the game.
You must give a quote from a film and the first person to guess the correct movie the quote is from gets to ask the next question.
As easy one to start,
"It's got a wonderful defense mechanism: you don't dare kill it"
If a quote hasn't been guessed then a hint may be given, if the film still isn't guessed then another film quote must be chosen.

In Rush Hour, Jackie Chan sings it all goofy,

I was stumped so I cheated to find out, but I'll give a tiny hint in his place and won't say what it is, it's a rather old and odd movie you've probably watched at least 8 times in your life; that popular. I'm surprised I didn't think of it.

Okay a hint. I've posted a quote from the same actor before in this thread.
OK, little change in the rules, when you post a movie quote you must also provide a clue and give a (rough estimate) of the year the film was made
i think with those rules at least everyone will have a chance in guessing the films in question

Gah it was a touching movie which also has a song by the same name. I don't know the year of it though. But there is a really popular song. Come on someone has to know this, it's the quote everyone remembers from watching it.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. I'll give you points for recognizing that it's a Star Wars movie, but you've both picked the wrong one. It's "Star Wars". Han Solo says it about Princess Leia in the first of the movies.
Joe, you at least had it as part of the original trilogy. Your turn.
Peg
Ohh....no the first movie is called Star Wars: A New Hope
if my memory serves me correctly, when the very first boxed set of Star Wars came out there was no mention of A New Hope on the case or video and it was simply called Star Wars, i have noticed that on all new remastered versions they are saying this now though
anyway, my turn
What, no small talk? No chit-chat? That's the trouble with the world today, no body takes the time to do a really sinister interrogation anymore

or its inspiration - Bond. I can't quite place my finger on it, though.
FYI - The original Star Wars movie release in 1977 was only called "Star Wars" - because people would've got confused by a film series starting at Episode 4.
But the full title of the movie when you watch in the intro is "Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope".
It's just that Georgie boy thought that it would be the most accessible of the films. The others probably wouldn't have been such a big hit.
