As you may possibly guess....this is a Cartoon-based trivia game. Cartoons are funny, plus they date us quite well
:D .

Answer the question, then come up with a new Category/question of your own.

Rules:
Unless stated in the question, characters must be from cartoons that aired on national networks. This means...
No muppets as they weren't cartoons.
No Disney movie characters (unless they spun off their own cartoon series)
No characters that are strictly a "funny page" character.

Again, any of those rules can be bi-passed by stating it clearly in the question.

Sample Question:
Category: Animals
Question: Name 6 mice.

Answer: Mighty, Mickey, Minni, Pinky, Brain, Speedy Gonzalez

Okay, the first question (and an easy one at that)
Category: Men in uniform
Question: These two very famous characters almost always wore a sailor outfit.

Damnit, Donaly Duck didn't even occur to me. 4 D words in a row, sweet. Where's this next question?

putts

This one should be easy, though it tends to get a bunch of people...

Category: Monsters
Question: This is the name of big red furry monster in the Looney Tunes cartoons.

Don't forget, whoever answers it, just ask the next question.

Kitti
02-28-2004, 09:51 AM
Dan didn't forget...I answered while he was on the phone...but he moved on.
My bad...I sorry.

The big red furry monster was very INNNNNteresting.
I know he got a manicure from Bugs...
I got it now....Was it "Gossemer"?

Next Question:"What is the Abominable Snowman's name?"
**You know, the one that will "love him and pet him and name him George"....**

ExtraDog

The Abominable Snowman's name is: Hugo

What was Bugs Bunny's original name?

Are you suuuuuuure he had an original name. I'm pretty sure he didn't even have a neme for his first few cartoons. He wasn't referred to as Bugs until Tex Avery's like 3 cartoon of his, but before that, I thought he was just "un-named."

DannyB
02-29-2004, 09:16 AM
I am certain that he had a name and during the very time that you are reffering to.

Kitti
02-29-2004, 11:24 AM
He did have a name and he looked slightly different than we know him now. Browner color, bigger ears. He got the new name when his look was perfected.

<edit> His name was Happy Rabbit when back when he was Elmer Fudd's pet (it's true....really). His character was referred to "bugs's" bunny before making his starring debut on Tex Avery's show with a new look and a new name.</edit>

NEW QUESTION:
Category: famous quotes
Who said "You're doing alota choppin boy, but no chips are flyin'"?

ExtraDog
02-29-2004, 11:48 AM
I think Putts may be right..
Tex Avery wanted to call him "Jack Rabbit" but Leon Schlesinger liked Bugs Bunny. Since Tex worked for Schlesinger guess who won that debate.
Refer to paragraph six of this essay:

Define national networks. Are we sticking with NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, UPN, and WB.
This would exclude stuff like Ren & Stimpy, Beavis & Butthead, and Sponge Bob.
Or can we branch out to Nickelodeon Cartoon Network and MTV? Thanks to basic cable they're nation wide too.

Are we trying to keep this strictly old school Looney-Toons or was he just saying no Little Mermaid questions?

You can bypass any one of these rules so long as you state it clearly in the question.

I believe that was Marvin the Martians weapon of choice for clearing a spot in the sky for his view of venus.... or, blowing up earth.

I always loved his dog.

Okay, Okay. Geez oh peets! Can't a guy be vague once in a while and get away with it?:D

Let's put it this way, don't ask a question just based on the thought that no-one else will get it becase of how unknown the character/show is.

Spongebob/Ren & Stimpy/Beavis & Butthead/Simpsons/Family Guy - these ones quite a few people might know, but some question from something like Fairly Odd Parents are just going to annoy anyone over the age of 14 as most of us have never seen any episodes of it.:D

I hope that clears my name of any criminal investigations.

Bica
03-01-2004, 01:32 PM
His name was the Great Gazoo or something close to that if memory serves, but his planet of origin I would have to look up, and I will, but I won't post it cuz that feels like cheating. Somebody else can have fun with that one.

putts
03-01-2004, 04:04 PM
The Great Gazoo was from the planet Zotex, or something like that.:D Wasn't really figuring anyone would get that second part.:)

Kitti
03-01-2004, 04:30 PM
The cartoon Shaggy is (and has been forever) done by Casey Kasem. I was a HUGE Batman fan as a kid.....Casey also did the voice for Robin, the boy wonder. I loved the Superfriends.

I'm pretty sure he did at one stage, but he didn't have the roadrunner for long....

Kitti
03-01-2004, 06:06 PM
Okay....I've learned my lesson. Never post a "yes" or "no" question. He did actually catch the roadrunner.

It went like this, the Wile E. was chasing the RR thru a pipe, that the RR escaped by the way, but Wile E. kept running thru. The pipe got smaller and smaller, and so did the coyote. When he came out the other side, he was tiny and the rr was just standing there. Wile E. then ran up to him and wrapped himself around the leg of the RRbeast. He stared at the camera for a few seconds and then held up a sign that read..."Okay, you wanted me to catch him...so now what?!?" Fade to black.

**with all the money Wile spent on Acme products...you'd think he'd make a trip or two to the grocery store.

Okay...I see where this is going. Greedy is not the cook, Greedy steals the food. It "looks" like he is the cook because he always has food in his hands. "Baker" chases him off all the time.

Technically, Grimlock was not a genius...he suddenly "got smart" by biting some electrical wires. He created the Technobots. They transform into Computron.

Their names are:
Strafe
Lightspeed
Scattershot
Afterburner
Nosecone

***bownie bonus points for names?????

Wasn't the other that big dog? I can't for the life of me remember if he had a name or not..I don't think so.

Oh and sure, bonus points sound good for the transformers question...um..200 points? I think that sounds fair :)

When tweety was first drawn, she was pink, that would make her a girl I believe.

Was Tweety originally pink??
I did not know that...I was thinking since "he" wears a blue hat and tie-thingy that would make Tweety a boy?

hint for the question....he's a sleuth~hound

http://www.characterproducts.com/info/character_histories/tweety_doorway.htm ...

The end of the first paragraph:

Furthermore, Tweety Bird, the cute little canary with the big head, was originally pink. After censors complained that the bird looked naked because he had no feathers, Tweety Bird’s color was changed to yellow.

Maybe he is a boy though, I just kinda assumed.
