I'm sorry, but I have to ask this:
What is CPM?

CPM refers to Cost Per Impression, generally used in referance to ads. In other words, it means how many times a particular banner might be shown.
I'm a bit skeptic about the SponsorBar. Being larger than regular ads, wouldn't it take more time for slower puters to download? Also, even though the majority of users have their resolution set to 800x600, those with smaller resolution would have to scroll horizontally. Just a pet peeve. :)

I'm not a big fan of the Bravenet 'SponsorBar' either, but Bravenet say it works. Infact Bravenet like it so much that they are going to put it at the top of all their service pages.
So if you have a Bravenet guestbook, forum or any other of their tools, you should watch out!

Well in 'laymans terms'
CPM means how much every 1000 impressions of an advertisment would cost.
It stands for Cost Per M (M standing for 1000 in roman numerals.)
For example a CPM of $3 would mean that every 1000 times you show a banner you will get $3

Well, they have utilised it already. You can find it on all of the Bravenet sites and services, unless, of course, if you subscribe to Bravenet Professional. But again, what is the point of it anyway? The bar did not take a long time to load, at 754 by 60 pixels, it does seem a good deal to advertisers, but not to us consumers

Good for advertisers, not good for consumers.

Have you seen Freeservers Banners? The size of their banners have increased too.
Banners are getting larger everywhere, CPM rates are dropping wherever you loook, whats next?
