I got a scanner by microtek this week, i went to install it i installed the CD went through the installation wizard.

i then hooked up the scanner to the USB port and electrical outlet.

when i hit the test scanner option its showing as 'no scanner available'

or i get 'scanner not found, check the connection'

well at this point ive cjecked the connections about a million friggin times. I've tried connecting it from both USB ports and ive continually made sure the connections were snug.

im currently downloading drivers from their site to make sure i have them.

but i was assuming that the drivers would have been on the installation CD.

my computer has a wizard system for installing scanners so i tried that way and it wouldnt work that way either, it gave me a message about missing hardware info.

as it stands now i have a $150.00 scanner sitting useless on my desk and its driving me to drink.

What OS are you using? If its XP it should recognize it when you plug it in, if not uninstall all the drivers and see if XP will recognize it when you plug it in.
Good Luck,
Paul

i got it to work it was missing a driver that wasnt on the install CD. which is odd i would imagine all needed drivers would be on the install CD.

oh well its up and running now.

now i must master the scanner beast
