what do you think about Office XP ?
As my first saw :
= fast install, just 5 min for full install
= fast start , just 1-2 sec from you click icon
= nice layout
= more tools and smart submenu ( I still don't know if it useful but cool )
= new left bar for people easy to begin
Nothing to review more coz I's just installed it 3 hours ago
First sight is Nice , FAST..FAST.FAST

Who makes Office XP? I've never heard of it. I use MS Office 97 (which is good but tends to crash) and I really like StarOffice, it's pretty much like MS Office, but it's free.

XP looks pretty cool to me, not sure if I'm going to rush out and get it right away though. The biggest additions I see are the new productivity tools (task panes etc...) I'm assuming they are going to be configuring this to implement into microsoft.net? Or is this going to be run through ms.net?

:evilsnik:
A good friend installed it, he says:
No crash after the first day!
That's the proof!
It cannot be made by MicroSoft!
Must be a result of industrial spying :drunk:

Hmmm.. why would they release it in stores if it is to be a part of microsoft.net? Isn't that project 2 years away from competition anyway?

Quite pricey as well. One place had the standard upgrade for $299.

I heard they are holding off on the idea of just running the programs over the net. I would assume because of the current limitations of internet speeds.
I just upgraded to win2k a few months ago... I don't think i'm gonna dish out another couple hundred bones just for a minor speed increase. I haven't seen a blue screen for a long time, and I don't want to start!

I just spent $500 for a full version of 2000 professional. There's not a chance that I am going to spend $500 or so more for an upgrade.

It's eXPensive for the difference there is between 2000 and XP.
But as I get it free anyway I won't grumble!
