OK, guys and gals, put your thinking caps on! :P

Here's the situation: The company I work for has assigned me the task of redesigning their website. (Their present one is pretty sad. :() I have all the pages created and am now concentrating on the e-commerce portion of the site. (As the president of our company isn't going to be back from vacation for another 2 weeks, and the site has to be "blessed" by him before publishing it, I can't show you a preview -- SORRY!)

Anyway, this company sells machinery to large bakeries, so it is a business-to-business operation, where our customers have accounts and do not use credit cards. SO...our pricelists are in an Excel spreadsheet format (at the present time, there's only 3 but there's going to be about 10 more). I did a really nice job of linking them in the appropriate page and everything was wonderful, UNTIL....I went to open the 2nd spreadsheet...got nothing. Went to open the 3rd spreadsheet...same thing. Tried this scenario over and over with the same results.

OK, back to the drawing board. Hmmmm, let's try Adobe! =:O Created a PDF in Adobe -- along with the fields so that it would calculate totals. Everything was going along great UNTIL I discovered that a PDF file cannot be emailed (because it needs to be saved) unless you have Acrobat -- won't do it with Reader, no way, no how.

Tried setting up a shopping cart, and was almost there, when I got the word from the powers that be (i.e., my boss) that they didn't want to use a shopping cart. They wanted to use the Excel spreadsheets.

So....my question to all you computer guru's who are MUCH more competent at this than I am, is: How can I get more than one Excel spreadsheet to open? As an alternative, how can I get a customer to be able to download a particular spreadsheet. :D

involved.

It would seem that you will run into a host of problems like what kind of operating system they each run, browser, firewalls, security settings etc.

In Win XP as an example you can open two pages at a time side by side on a monitor. But what if they are not running XP.

Maybe a form would be the answer. Where you create a generic master spread sheet and have fill in the blanks options for customer input.

I may not understand what the goal is since I can not see an example, but this may be way to accomplish what you are trying to do.
Hope this helps, good luck.
