You made some? Cool! I need some for the H bomb Im making. I found some uranium ore on Ebay, and now all I need is some TNT to set off the chain reaction or however h bombs work.

Never mind. I figure dry ice would work just as well. But if you dont mind giving the recipie for future knowledge any way...

it's not too difficult.
take some Toluene, and some Nitric Acid (weak solution), and heat. The higher you heat it too, the more nitrified the Toluene gets. at about 55°C, it becomes tri-nitrated.
actually, I lied. We made Tri-Nitro-Benzene. Someone saw the experiment on the syllabus and replaced Benzene with Toluene, because the idea of 16 year olds making TNT scared them a little.
Funny thing is, Benzene is not allowed in schools anymore (carcinogenic), so they're back to using Toluene. :)
you really would want something else as the detonator in a a-bomb. TNT is very unstable, and if not stored correctly can spontaneously explode.

turns out that you're right... Trinitrophenylmethylnitramine is better than tnt...more stable during storage, and more powerful.

i don't think it counts if you make them up.
i know that chemicals can have long names, but you actually missed out some important information that would be in that name - like numbers denoting where the alkyl groups are attached on the chain.
Hey I didnt make it up...
Gregory

ah, jake, not fair game.
i posted one similar and they said it had to be in the dictionary :(
IT WOULD BE:(
But the money hungry publishers just dont want to waste a page on it.

What you have described is a protein chain - and it would never be called that - it would have a simpler name.
all you have done is strung a load of amino acids together and inserted some alkyl groups - again you haven't specified where these alkyl groups are attached - so you haven't even got that bit right.
