Photoshop 8

Rumours are emerging of PS 8...

I have yet to find concrete images of the possible release but apparently they are out there.

2 new functions to be included.
Non-destructive layers &
Non-rectanguler pixels (great for fuji's image interperlation :) I hope )

Anyone else heard anything.

hehe, rumours have been emerging for a while, and screenshots since june but Adobe's legal team have been scouring the web ordering them to be removed, there's still a few out there, google knows where. Looks damned nice :)
if all goes well it should be out by the end of the year.

I hear that you will be able to wrap text around a path... about time too!

Yeah, I've always wondered why they never included that...it really took away from the program uses for print work, but I guess maybe they wanted you to get illustrator for that stuff, double their profit.

When did ps 7 come out? From the sounds of ps 8 sounds pretty nice. I like the whole idea of wrapping text around pen paths.

they just showed some new features on the screensavers (techTV), looks great.

nice color matching feature where you can take the tones of one thing and change the color of another object to match those... hard to explain, but it looks cool.

also a nice new panoramic picture creator where you can combine pictures to make a panorama.

Do you know what the pen tool is? Then you know what a path is pretty much. Go here and go to ps basics and look at pen tool.

Photoshop 8 WAYHEY!! i gotta have it, althought...
i aint very gd with PS7, ummm decisions decisions....
a) learn Ps7 till i can use it properly then get PS8
or
b) get PS8 and play about wit it till i look like i know what im doin
