Stock Market Database

Hello!
My friend plays on e-stock market. And he asked me to learn some good databse programm which he can use to create graphs and make analysys. He also told me he wants to put this database programm on the Home Page, so he could access it from anywhere, and edit it online. Can some one advice me what I should learn?

I recommend learning PHP & MySQL.

Using the GD Library you can take advantage of creating graphics on the fly using PHP (which would work for your graphs).
