I need either someone to recommend someone or someone to give me a quote for getting my site into the top 10 of the top 7 search engines under the topics of Digital Photography, Photography etc...

There is no quick fix for getting a high ranking. Some search engines like Goto charge per click, so if you want a high ranking there, you'll need to place a high bid on each click.

Other search engines such as AltaVista, Lycos, and Google use an ever-changing formula, to prevent people from figuring out how to get to the top. Lately AltaVista has been using a link popularity system in it's placement formula. However if someone tells you they can guarantee you a certain position in all the search engines, they are bold faced liars, since the formulas in each search engine could change tomorrow (and differently from one another). Your best bet is to stock up on keywords in your meta tags, and make sure to use real sentences in the description and title tags, using these keywords. Also try to get your link out to as many sites that are already spidered by the search engines as possible.

In AltaVista, you can check how many sites it has indexed that link to you by typing link:"http://www.link.com" . Hope this helps.
