Dear Pynk,

I am not quite sure what you are wanting to do. If you would please explain and post the correct URL of your site, that would help me.

Thanks,

oops, it's www.geocities.com/tchsjsa
a good example of what i'm talking about is http://www.clubfit-la.com/
the lower left hand corner has a box that has links to the other pages of the site and it is present with every page of the site. i'm not too sure if it's a frame or what. hope that clears it up. thanks for attempting to answer my question though.

Pynk,

The site sure is in frames, in fact there are 3 frames altogether.

It is set up like this: (excuse my ASCII Art)

-----------------
| | |
| | |
|---| |
| | |
|___|___________|

However, the designer made a HUGE no no. The bottom left frame does not provide enough room to display the entire menu, in addition, there is a noscroll set in the frame, which means you can't even scroll to see the whole thing. Half the navigation is inaccessable!

If you are using internet explorer, you can click and drag down in that frame to force the blocked portion up onto the screen to see what I'm talking about.

Anyway, each link is a simple image, that uses a mouse over effect to "swap" the image with one of a different color to make the glow effect. It's pretty simple. You can make the graphics with any graphics program, including Microsoft Paint.

hi pynkbubbles,

don't apologise for asking questions and wanting help - that's what we are here for

a site i found useful when i wanted to learn about frames is http://www.gettingstarted.net/
(you will find the frames guide under the advanced section.) you can also learn the simpler parts of html here - all the tutorials are kept nice and simple with the newbie in mind

the reason why frames may be a good idea for your nav bar is that you want the nav bar to remain the same and be on every page. if you use frames on your site, the nav menu can load once in one frame and stay there all the time, while the rest of your site can load in the other frame(s). so you just make your graphics and load the nav bar once into a frame.

you probably don't follow some of this and it won't become clear until you have messed around a bit with frames. feel free to ask as many questions as you like here. as the saying goes the only stupid question is the one you don't ask (or something like that anyway!)

Pynk,

After you understand what frames are, our own online frame maker may prove useful to you:

well thanks Jalouda. However Ian deserves the kudos on tis one. After all, he's the one that hooked us up with that, and most of the other online tools on the site.

Cheers to Ian.
