View Full Version : Domain name doesn't work--where do I look?

To all,

I just designed a site for a guy and put it on his ISP space. That space is http://www.telenet.net/~watson. That works. But the domain name he has registered, coldspringsfarm.net, doesn't point to it. I changed the nameservers to match the Telenet records. The domain is hosted with Network Solutions. So who should I go to for assistance? The ISP or Network Solutions?

It no longer has the "Under Construction" page that Solutions provides, so I assume it has something to do with the ISP.

Thanks.

I would keep the DNS settings for the tld the same and just use a frame or cloaked redirection.

I dont know of an ISP that will host a tld for you - but then i haven't been looking.

erm, have you waited the 48 hours for propagation?

check that the nameservers ahve registered ok, if they havent and it still doesnt point to the website contact network solutions, you have enterd into the control panel of the website the tld that will be pointing to it havent you?

No, Leoo, I haven't. But it always seemed like I should. Everyone kept saying, "Just change the nameserver records." But not only do you have to "send it," so to speak, but you also have to "catch it." Is that what you're saying?

I talked to the ISP and all they did was give me the nameservers, and they said that was it. I was also told that in another forum on this site, but there must have been some miscommunication.

Thanks.

Sounds like it's making it's way too the new DNS changes..
as you mentioned that the "under construction" page is no longer there. Generally takes 48hrs.. as others have mentioned in this thread. Hope it all works out quickly for you.!
