Simple question for you, What don't you know? You seem to be the resident genious on just about everything, that is very respectful and something strived for. How do you know so much, better yet, how do you remember it?

I wouldn't put it past him to deduce the color of you boxer shorts.

ummm... Today, leoo, you are wearing the pink ones, with yellow polka dots and lacy frills? Yes/no?
In answer to your question - there is plenty that I don't know.
How the universe started, how life started, what gives me the ability to think about this stuff, the location of the "I".
I am terrible at languages. I learnt some basic French, German and Spanish, but because I haven't used any of it for any time, I can only now say "Hello", "Goodbye" and "Thankyou".
I am not all that good a programmer - I know enough to do some pretty cool stuff, but I can't measure up to someone like Scoutt here for example (jdjorgenson and torrents are two others that get my admiration). Also I could not produce anything like a commercial game (even those cute shareware demos you get on gamer mags), although I would like to give it a try sometime.
I learn through simply reading, listening, and watching. Same as everyone else.
I remember because I think about what I read, hear, and see.
I believe memory is associative, and is reinforced through the act of remembering. Meaning that, if I think enough about stuff, I'll remember it. If I think about enough stuff in connection with other stuff, I'll remember it.
I have to say, though, I am driven.
I am driven by a desire to answer those questions about the universe, life, intelligence. I constantly search for new information that other people have turned up.
I guess I am a natural synthesist - I can collate information (sometimes seemingly unrelated) and roll it up into a new worldview. In that I guess I am lucky - but I wish I was a better guitar player.
Well said Horus. Life truly is one learning journey that we can all take part of. :)

he probably reads a lot.
the ultimate source of useless information: the Discovery channel.
I have more useless facts stored in my head than names of people!
Horus has (what we call) street smarts.
Scoutt has Tech smarts.
Theyre both geniuses in their own ways.

hey don't knock the discovery channel.
While I don't know if they have the same programming on the US version as we do in the UK, I have learnt a lot of stuff from that. And it is really quite useful and interesting.

 oh my god they are pinkish (pale samon color as ross from friends would say) but no dots. I did have my tutu on earlier on today so that may count for the frills :P
See Leo? I told you he'd know ;) Maybe we should all be scared now, Horus knows what our underwear looks like

Most of his information comes from the Cheshire Cat or the Red Queen. <shrug> And who are we to argue with them, right? ;)

Are we talking about the same Horus here?
The arrogant little upstart that just lurrrrvs proving me wrong? Even if he does claim to be testing the strength of my arguement :P
I reckon we need to get Horus, Kevin, Transmothra, Entimp, Ian, KWJams, and a few notable others, around the same table in a pub and thrash out a few of the issues they've raised in the past.
Peg, Kate and I can referee and throw bread rolls at public order offenders :D
That's before they descend into a drunken giggle.
I was once the eight of diamonds Peg...but that's another story....

*lol* Gees, Angel, putting those guys in the same shire, never mind the same room, could be dangerous!
Yeah, we could throw bread rolls, or peanuts or poke them with pretzel sticks. But I'm not sure what that would do - improve their manners or make them worse. *wg* Be interesting to find out. I wonder how long it would take to load them onto a lorry to get them home, though. Do you suppose the publican would charge extra for that? <shrug> Or we could just put them on roller skates and drag them out. That might work. Then, again, if they're going to spend the night in the "Queen's Hotel", we wouldn't have to worry about that. Would we?
Of course, there could be another problem. You, me and Kate at the same table. Are you sure the guys could handle that?

Yeah, I'm not sure if that would qualify them as the Three Stooges, the Marx Brothers, or "Roger Rabbit & Co.".
Mind you, it might make some things less confusing. Sort of. Can you imagine of the tax laws were set up like HTML or CSS? "Strict compliancy required". They'd *never* get their lunches as tax-deductible expenses. ;)

*rotfl* Right or wrong, Kate, it doesn't really matter. It's no end hilarious pinning one of their feet to the floor and watching them spin. Drunken whirling dervishes!
A couple of spikes, a hammer and a camera. All the fixin's for a wonderful tale to tell *their* grandchildren. *wg* I wonder how much they'd pay for the negatives?

Precisely.
So, when I am not hill-walking, rock-climbing, cycling, working or writing, I sit and read.
Sometimes I read fiction (at the moment, I am reading one of the Pern books by Anne Macaffrey). Sometimes I read non-fiction (just read Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose).
Either way, it stretches your mind, and you either learn about the world that is (or was), or about the worlds that could be.

I envisaged us getting quietly sozzled behind a mountain of bread rolls and the occasinal shout of...B*LL*X!
But, it looks like I've enlisted the help of a couple of more malevolent spirits.
Sounds like fun!

Who said mythology was fiction?
Behind every myth is a grain of truth - most of them were there to explain the unexplainable.
Like the story of Echo - who after being jilted by Narcissus (i think - she was definitely jilted) ran off into the woods, and then faded.
The only evidence of Echo was a lonely voice calling back in the empty woods.
