I am not a merchant, and I don't have a website which I sell things on. I sell my stuff on ebay.
My Question:
Is there anywhere I can accept a credit card payment for an item other then paypal? One where you can just accept a one time payment?
Let me explain the situation, someone in Indonesia would like to buy something from me for $1500.00. He emailed me and asked if I was able to directly accept a credit card payment or if I had a machine or a merchant account to accept his credit card.
he is not able to use online payment like PAYPAL, BIDPAY, MONEY ORDER or etc cause his government doesn't allow that for use outside Indonesia.
Sounds weird to me, but i dont know. is there anyway for me to accept his credit card?
thanks, any help will be appreciated.

Kelli,
Having worked with a lot of E-commerce clients directly you might like to try one of the following companies:
http://www.ibill.com
http://www.ccbill.com
http://www.netbilling.com
http://www.stormpay.com
http://www.netbilling.com
Also, i beleive if you get them to set up an account at http://www.paypal.com they can pay using their credit card through the paypal store system.
Hope this helps.

Lee

hi, this my first post here...
***Fraud Alert***
be alert when someone from indonesia is asking to complete a transaction in that manner, most likely the person has a stolen cc...wise up or you will loose $1500 worth of merch.
***Fraud Alert***
good luck.

Which was why i also included Paypal and Stormpay in the list ;)
Fact of the matter is in over 3 1/2 years of trading globally online we have had one (1) incidence of credit card fraud happening, the country the transaction came from....
The Uk.
A persons geographical location has very little to do with whether they will, or will not, commit credit card fraud.
What you are saying is that anyone from Indonesian shouldnt be trusted? Sorry but if i was to run my business on that basis, i would have very few clients ;)
Thats just my $0.02 though.

Lee

Ask for a money order. If they dont respond, it is most likely a scam. I had someone from south africa that want to buy something from me and they said they would come here to get it. I told them I would only accept cash or money order and they never responded. I tried to contact them, and the email address they gave me and that I had been using to contact them was no longer there.
Also, I got another email from a guy from south africa who said he had a trunk full of cash (22 million US) that his father had left in a security box and he needed some money to get it out. He said no one knew about what was in side the trunk, then he sent me a picture of the cash!!!
